BARRIER POSITION RESEARCH 2011 - MEAN AVERAGES

Everybody has an opinion on the value of barriers and results. Here are some statistics from the year 2011 that you may find helpful in your handicapping.

These are for TAB meetings in every State of Australia tabulating the results of tens of thousands of races over all distances 800m to 3200m.
They take no account of track differences or designs or differences in the ability of different horses and are merely "mean" raw figures.

Figures in blue indicate a result that's equal to or better than the "mean average". Figures in red indicate a result worse than the "mean average"
