Boy was foaled in Ireland in 1951 and was by My
Babu out of the mare Better So (by Mieuxce)
his career he had 33 starts for 8 wins, 5 seconds and 2 thirds for
a total of over $10000 in prize money.
main win was in the 1955 Hotham Handicap - now known as The
probably should have won the Caulfield Cup in 1956 but left his jocket
at the start.

Better Boy jumped from
the inside gate but, unfortunately, his jockey Norm Powell hit the
ground shortly afterwards.
This didn't deter Better Boy who,
like most of his subsequent offspring, gave his all to finish the
race just ahead of the hot favourite Redcraze.
Former jockey Kevin Mitchell, who
rode the third placegetter Prince Delville, recalls that Powell had
one leg out of the irons as the starter let them go.
