Bunratty Castle - horse - Caulfield Cup winner 1968Bunratty Castle, named after a tourist attraction in Ireland, was foaled in 1964 and was by Henry The Seventh out of the mare Winter Solstice (by Djebe)

Starting from barrier 2, his main win was in the 1968 Caulfield Cup, ridden by Mick Mallyon, defeating Future (33/1) by three lengths, and Arctic Coast (14/1) third.

At 12/1 he simply led all the way and landed a substantial plunge

He was trained at Bendigo by the late Kevin Wynne. He went on to be the first Caulfield Cup winner to stand at stud in Queensland.
