Chiamare racehorse 1983 Newcastle Cup winner

Chiamare - racehorse AustralianRacehorse Chiamare was foaled in 1979 and was by Italian sire Claude out of the Australian mare Elevena (by Just Great)

Owned by David & Cathy Hains, and trained by T J Smith, he won the Brisbane Cup in 1984 after previously winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in Sydney.

He also won the Newcastle Cup in 1983 beating handy middle distance performers Hayai and Noble Heights in 2.26.2 and the Frank Packer Plate over 2000 metres in 1983 and led them up to the 300 metre mark in that year's Melbourne Cup.

He ran second in the time honoured Mackinnon Stakes in 1983 behind Veloso.
