was foaled in 1963 and was by Rose Argent out of the mare
Wheat Germ (by Trigo)
Crisp
was a fabulous jumper who won the Hiskens Steeplechase
at Flemington in 1969 and 1970 as well a s a host of other
jumps events.
He
was sent to the UK with the main aim of winning the Grand
National at Aintree but was narrowly beaten by UK champion
Red Rum by three quarters of a length after giving the
UK champ a stone and a half in weight.
He
was retired in 1974 after his last run when he beat Red
Rum by 10 lengths. He died around 1981 / 1982.
