THE RULES: (METRO TRACKS ONLY)

Rule 1: Ignore maiden races, 2YO races, jumps races.

Rule 2: Only consider horses where the value of the race last competed in had prize money equal to or greater than the value of today's race PLUS 25%.
(In other words, the horse is dropping in $$$ class)

Rule 3: Eliminate any horse that has not won at least two races

Rule 4: Eliminate any horse beaten by more than 5 lengths at its last start.

Rule 5: Eliminate any horse that has not started within three calendar months of today's date.

Rule 6: Eliminate any horse 8 years old or older.

Rule 7: Of the contenders left, look at the number of wins held by the most proficient race winner. Then:

a) If that happens to be 7 or more, eliminate any contender that has won 4 or less

b) If that happens to be 6, eliminate any contender that has won 3 or less

c) If that happens to be 4 the minimum number of wins a contender can have is 2

Rule 8: If more than one contender left the selection is the horse that won OR was beaten by the smallest margin last start.

Rule 9: If still more than one contender, the selection is the won starting from the best barrier.
