was foaled at Trelawney Stud in 1962 and was by Alcimedes
out of the mare Galston (by Balloch)
In
an amazing career he started 36 times for 18 wins, 6 seconds
and 4 thirds and amassed $169,970 in prize money - a large
amount in dollar terms in those days.
His
major wins included the Caulfield
Cup and Melbourne
Cup in 1966 (beating Light Fingers) , the Toorak
Handicap in 1966, C B Fisher Plate in which he bravely
defeated Tobin Bronze, Queen's Plate in 1967, Queen
Elizabeth Stakes, Autumn Stakes, Sydney
Cup (by six lengths), Memsie Stakes in 1968 and Turnbull
Stakes.
He
is buried at the Gawler racecourse in South Australia.
