Horse racing winners statistics 2011 by place percentages

Here are some interesting statistics for 2011 that you may wish to consider in your selection approach.

These figures are for all races covered by the TAB run nation wide between January 1 2011 and October 31 2011

Qualification: All horses qualifying must have had at least one race start. (No first time starters)

(Note: there obviously can be more than one qualifier per race)

11% - 20%	12776	Between them the qualifiers won 774 races (total win s/r of 11.7% from 6630 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -27.9% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -24.0% return on investment at a place strike rate of 34.6%.
21% - 30%	18828	Between them the qualifiers won 1473 races (total win s/r of 16.8% from 8756 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -16.2% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -18.7% return on investment at a place strike rate of 43.5%.
31% - 40%	26569	Between them the qualifiers won 2456 races (total win s/r of 23.2% from 10592 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -21.7% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -20.3% return on investment at a place strike rate of 54.9%
41% - 50%	24587	Between them the qualifiers won 2749 races (total win s/r of 21.8% from 10188 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -21.8% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -16.9% return on investment at a place strike rate of 61.1%
51% - 60%	9957	Between them the qualifiers won 1288 races (total win s/r of 22.7% of 5686 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -16.7% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -14.3% return on investment at a place strike rate of 53.1%
61% - 70%	5978	Between them the qualifiers won 953 races (total win s/r of 22.5% of 4243 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -13.8% profit on turnover. A one unit place investment (no minimum # starters rule) would have shown a -11.0% return on investment at a place strike rate of 52.9%
71% - 80%	3122	Between them the qualifiers won 567 races (total win s/r of 23.2% of 2447 races). A one unit win investment on all qualifying runners would have shown a -22.5% profit on turnover.
