Kennaquhair was foaled in 1914 and was by Kenilworth out of the mare
Calluna (by Manton)
From 72 starts he had 10
wins and dozens of placings and won £17,126.
Trained by Bill Stringer,
his main win was in the Sydney
Cup of 1920 carrying 59.5kgs (9 stone 5lbs).
He also won the AJC Metropolitan,
VRC Queen
Elizabeth Stakes, Tattersall's
Club Cup and AJC Spring Stakes which is now the Colin
Stephens Quality Hdcp.
In 1921 Kennaquhair starred
as the heroine's horse, Alert in the silent, black and white film,
Silks and Saddles. (Released overseas as Queen of the Turf).
He died in 1934.
