Leilani - Australian race horseLeilani was foaled in 1970 and was by Oncidium out of the mare Lei (by Summertime)

She was leased by political figure Andrew Peacock and trained by Bart Cummings.

She started 28 times for 14 wins and prizemoney of $270,870 - a then record for a mare. At her eighth start she won the AJC Oaks and, in the following spring, she collected the Turnbull Stakes, Toorak Handicap, Caulfield Cup and MacKinnon Stakes.

Other notable wins included the VATC C F Orr Stakes, ST George Stakes, Australian Cup as well as a gallant second to stablemate Think Big in the 1974 Melbourne Cup.
