Nebo Road was foaled in 1963 and was by Wilkes out of the mare Juani
Trained by Mackay's Dick
Roden, his main wins were in the 1965 AJC Breeders Plate, 1967 Newmarket
Handicap and 1967 STC Winter Handicap.
He ran some good quality
placings in his career as well including second behind Manihi
in the 1968 Newmarket, third behind Cabochon in the 1968 Canterbury
Stakes and third behind the very quick Flying Gauntlet in the 1968
AJC June Stakes.
Nebo Road was named by Roden
who bought the Wilkes colt for 1750 guineas, after Dick's childhood
address near Mackay's racetrack.
