Racehorse trainer Jack Denham was born - trained Might And Power to win the 1998 Melbourne Cup - died in 2009 at age 85.

At Boulder racecourse (WA), Mangaroon, Pilette and Brewsia triple dead heated for first in the First Class Plate. The prize money was split.
