Nancye Bolton, tennis player, was born; Australian Championships Singles Champion (1937, '40, '46-'48, '51), Doubles Champion (1936-'40, '47-'49, '51, '52), Mixed Doubles Champion (1940, '46-'48).  She died in 2001.
Champion jockey Neville Sellwood was born in Brisbane. (Died November 7, 1962 in riding accident) Won the Melbourne Cup in 1951 on Delta and again in 1955 on Toparoa.
