Mark Robinson, from Cooma, won the Goulburn to Sydney cycling race in 6 hours, 50 minutes and 30 seconds.

The New South Wales Snooker Championship was won by W. Hughes from Dundas.
1944
Balmain won the NSWRFL Grand Final Challenge against Newtown 12-8.
1950
South Sydney won the NSWRFL Grand Final against Western Suburbs 21-15.
1961
St George won the NSWRFL Grand Final against Western Suburbs 22-0.
1967
South Sydney won the NSWRFL Grand Final against Canterbury 12-10.
1968
Interdominion winner Cardigan Bay ran his last race in the USA. In his career he ran 154 times for 80 wins and 47 places. The first harness racer in the world to win $1m.
1972
Manly won their first ever Sydney Rugby League Grand Final defeating Easts 19-14.
1978
Manly Warringah and Cronulla drew 11-11 at the NSWRFL Grand Final - the Grand Final was replayed on 19 September with Manly winning 16-0.
1990
Triathlete Greg Welch won the world triathlon championship in Orlando, Florida with Australians filling the first three places - Brad Beven 2nd and Stephen Foster 3rd.
