Oopik - Australian race horse - Sydney Cup Winner

Oopik - Sydney Cup winnerBred at the Millfield Stud near Matamata in New Zealand, Oopik was a very handy middle distance performer in the late 1970's..

Trained by NZ trainer Dave O'Sullivan, Oopik won the Sydney Cup in 1976 carrying 57.5 kgs beating Taras Bulba and Tom's Mate.

He also ran second to the good NZ horse Grey Way in the 1976 Awapuni Gold Cup in NZ and won the New Zealand International Stakes at the Te Rapa course in 1976.
