Perth Metro was developed by us and tested during all of 2011 for use exclusively on Perth Metropolitan race meetings at Ascot and Belmont.

Overall during the year there were 96 races that Perth Metro suggested an investment for, encompassing 106 different horses. The winning race strike rate was an absolutely phenomenal 45.8% with an average win dividend of $3.26 with a profit on turnover of 35.5% and the place strike rate was 68.4% with an average dividend of $1.60 and a place betting profit on turnover of 3.7%.

The longest run of outs for place betting was 5 and the longest run of outs for win betting was 10 - interestingly both happened at the change of venues from winter to to spring racing when the action changed from Belmont to Ascot.

Obvious questions:

Would Betfair have been better? Obviously so. If you want to put in the extra hours and bet race by race, you'll generally always do better. We simply ran it as a set and forget exercise on the TAB.
