Racehorse Redcraze was foaled in 1950 and was by Red Mars out of the mare Myarion (by Myosotis)

An outstanding performer, his main successes came in the 1956 Caulfield Cup carrying 9 stone 13 lbs, the Caulfield Stakes, Rawson Stakes, St George Stakes, Autumn Stakes, Queen Elizabeth Stakes (M), Cox Plate, AJC Metropolitan, Brisbane Cup, Hill Stakes (twice), QTC Turnbull Stakes, Awapuni Gold Cup and second in the 1956 Melbourne Cup "carrying the grandstand" with 10 stone 3 lbs. behind the great mare Evening Peal.

He was originally trained by Syd Brown and then in his later career by T J Smith

In all he started 85 times for 32 wins, 11 seconds and 9 thirds.

By the time he retired in 1957 he had won $142,962 - an Australian record at the time.
