Rough was foaled in 1979 and was by Brigand out of the
mare Romantic Glory (by Romantic)
In
his career he raced 23 times for 9 wins, 10 seconds and
1 third for a prize money total of $315,950.
He
won two Pure-Pak Stakes in 1983 and 1984 (now called the
Patinack
Farm Classic), the Lightning
Stakes in 1984 and 1985 as well as the William
Reid Stakes in 1985 and a host of other races.
River
Rough was named Australia's Champion Sprinter in 1984.
He
was retired to Roseneath Stud for a $10000 fee and died
in July 2007.
