Shocking - Australian racehorse - Melbourne Cup winner

Shocking was foaled in 2005 and was by Street Cry out of the mare Maria Di Castiglia (by Danehill)

In 27 race starts he won 7, ran second 6 times and also 2 thirds for a career prize money haul of $4,981,275.

His main win was in the 2009 Melbourne Cup ridden by Corey Brown and trained by Mark Kavanagh after having won the Lexus Stakes (Hotham Handicap) over 2500m to qualify three days earlier.

He also won the Makybe Diva Stakes and his final start in the Australian Cup over 2000 metres.
