Sydney Metro was developed by us and tested during all of 2011 for use exclusively on Sydney metropolitan race meetings on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Overall during the year there were 79 races that Sydney Metro suggested an investment for, encompassing 97 different horses. The winning race strike rate was 43.0% with an average win dividend of $4.65 with a profit on turnover of 62.9% and the place strike rate was 68.4% with an average dividend of $1.84 and a place betting profit on turnover of 11.9%.

The longest run of outs for place betting during the whole year was 4 (once) and the longest run of outs for win betting was 7 (once).

Obvious questions:

Would Betfair have been better? Obviously so. If you want to put in the extra hours and bet race by race, you'll generally always do better. We simply ran it as a set and forget exercise on the TAB.
