Two Up place betting horse racing system
$19.95
We
first came across the basic idea for this method way back
in 2003 in a punting publication and thought it had a
bit of potential so filed it away for further development
and improvement. This year we have developed and improved
it greatly in to what we call Two Up - mainly because
it involves backing two horses for a place in the same
race under some very selected conditions. These horses
range in price from 2.10 to 24.90 for a win so the potential
for a place return is quite bright.
Our
Test Period:
We
commenced a test on this with a bank of just $1000 on
June 1, 2009 and concluded the test on July 1, 2009 with
our bank standing at $3112 for a raw gain of $2112 in
the month AND REMEMBER this is only betting for a place.
(Or show and place if you were using this in the USA).
There
were 278 races considered to be suitable conveyances for
this methodology during the month - there was only one
day where no suitable races were found.
From
the 278 races, 226 of them returned at least one dividend.
On only 52 occasions, no dividend was returned - a strike
rate of about 81%. (Even higher if you don't bet on Saturdays)
The
worst losing streak during the month where no dividend
was returned was 5 (which happened just once on a
Saturday) - the next worse was 3 (which also
happened just once and also on a Saturday).
The
raw profit of $2112 in the month long trial represented
a profit on turnover of about 9% - betting seven days
a week.
(There was also the option of NOT betting on Saturdays
- just to have a day off really - and it returned a net
profit of $1186 at about 9.3% p.o.t.)
All
of our prices / returns are based on Unitab dividends
- we did not venture in to the Betfair arena - we assume
the returns would have been a little better on Betfair
but this is an unknown commodity.
Betting
7 days a week we only dipped into our own bank for a short
period on June 6th and 13th (Both Saturdays interestingly
enough). For the rest of the month we were ALWAYS
IN PROFIT.
Betting
6 days a week we were never in a loss
situation during the entire month which is pretty promising!
Did
we use a progression staking plan? Yes - a very mild one
though given the number of dividends we kept picking up
along the way which made the progression amounts quite
manageable. We started with (and maintained) a $10 base
unit - one one occasion during the month the bet amount
got up to $210 and we finished the month's trial with
our bet of $180 but on both occasions we were betting
with "profit money". Being very cautious, our
staking plan comes with built in safety brakes
- had we not used these our raw profit would have been
much greater but the risk rises commensurately - we ALWAYS
opt for safety over profit.
Do
you need an internet betting account to make this work?
Yes
Can
you set the bets in the morning and go and play golf in
the afternoon? NO - it takes effort - as does anything
worthwhile :-)
Did
it show a profit at level stakes betting for a place over
the month? Betting seven days a week, it showed a small
level stakes loss of 2%. Betting six days a week (excluding
Saturdays) it showed small level sakes profit of about
2%
Does
it work betting for a win? No - this is a place betting
system
Do
I need to understand handicapping? No
Do
I need a basic form guide? Yes - but the free ones on
the web are quite sufficient
