Barrier advantages - of least importance at 1400, 1500 and 1600

The Queensland Turf Club, operator of Eagle Farm Racecourse, (until 2009) was formed in 1863.
The Club was given a grant of 322 acres of land and hosted their first race meeting at Eagle Farm in 1865. To support its successful Brisbane Cup meeting, the Queensland Turf Club committee decided in 1890 to launch a great sprint race - the Stradbroke Handicap.
Now 126 years on in history, the AAMI Stradbroke has grown to become Australia's premier sprint race.

Eagle Farm Racecourse is the largest capacity racecourse in Queensland, hosting no less that 40 race meetings each season. The highlight of the racing calendar is certainly the Queensland Winter Carnival in June, which encompasses the state's finest social and fashion events and of course, the state's most prestigious racing with feature races including the AAMI Stradbroke, BMW Queensland Derby, Conrad Treasury Brisbane Cup and the T.J. Smith.
