Favourites Only Staking Plan

The Favourites Only Staking Plan is used ONLY for betting on race favourites which of course have a long term strike rate of generally between 31% and 33%.

The required bank is 510 units which covers a series of 45 bets (5 series of 9 each). Each series total outlay is 102 units.

The minimum acceptable price for ANY favourite is $2.50.

In the case of equal favourites, skip the race -the world is never going to run out of races!

As soon as a winner is struck, the series is finished. If you go 9 races without a winner -hey, stiff cheese, you lost a series. That's gambling! Rule off and start again.

The units for each series are:

1 -1 -2 -3 -5 -9 -15 -25 -41

A mathematician has done some work on these losing runs, based on the average % of winning bets usually made. Note: these are not set in concrete but are a reasonable guide as to what you may expect to happen from time to time.

Obviously, you will hit these average and worst case scenario losing runs now and again. How often will it happen? Don't know. Nobody does. It's why it's called gambling.

However you select your winners, work out your average hit rate and change your staking plan according to what you may expect to happen in order to limit the damage.
