Staking Levels By Price % Staking Plan

A lot of punters vary their bet levels according to the market price of their fancies so they have more on horses “in the market” than outsiders.

This may be a wise approach as over the long term, and we mean really long term, the market can be demonstrated to be mostly correct. Many more shorter priced horses will win compared to outsiders.

That’s just the way it is and cannot be changed by any amount of wishful thinking.

So if the most you ever want to put on a horse is $100, some argue the following should then be applied once you see what the price is:

Odds and resulting staking level:

$2.10     $100.00

$2.20     $90.00

$2.30     $85.00

$2.40     $83.00

$2.50     $80.00

$2.70     $77.00

$3.00     $75.00

$3.20     $70.00

$3.50     $65.00

$3.70     $62.00

$4.00     $60.00

$4.20     $57.00

$4.50     $55.00

$5.00     $52.00

$5.50     $50.00

$6.00     $47.00

$7.00     $45.00

$10.00   $42.00

$13.00   $40.00

Above     $30.00

No staking plan can make up for plainly poor selections.
